Putting on the Ritz ,Catering

My original caterer closed their business 4 months before the wedding and, fortunately, gave me back my full deposit. But I was left with finding a new caterer during a busy wedding time of early May. Luckily, a friend referred me to Bobby Mitchell of Putting on the Ritz. I had seen them before but thought that they would be out of my price range so I hadn't even considered them. Bobby pretty much matched the price and his package actually contained much more than my original caterer was going to. We delivered the centerpieces to their office ahead of time and they had to put them together as we showed them in pictures. They really went above and beyond with getting the room ready and it looked just like my daughter imagined and hoped that it would. The food was great - garlic mashed potatoes, grilled vegs and chicken marsala - all big hits. People were raving about the food. Things happen for a reason and I'm so glad that we ended up using Putting on the Ritz!

This is the best venue ever. My husband and I went to different places and felt that we would not find a great place for a good price, but The Great Room has it all, great prices, great food, great service!! This is absolutely the best place, I was super skeptical at first because of all the good reviews and assumed that maybe it was just too good to be true, but honestly this is a wonderful venue. The venue is large and open ready to fit up to tons of people (we had a wedding of 120 people, a photo booth, dessert table, bar, DJ, etc. and still could fit more people). The windows are large and beautiful that fills the room with natural light, but even if you aren’t going to have a lunch affair (Like we did) the windows are gorgeous and the décor is very neutral so you don’t have to worry about anything clashing with your wedding colors. The whole place “Savage Mill” is beautiful for pictures and for people to peruse and meander around and never get bored. Angie our wedding coordinator was absolutely fantastic and helped us through every step of the way and made sure that everything was taken care of. We gave her the décor and she set it up for is and it looked wonderful. The food was absolutely delicious too and we kept getting complements after complements. The honey almond crusted chicken was a huge hit/ everyone loved this and said it was moist, the soy lacquered salmon was amazing/ light and delicious and packed with flavor and cooked to perfection, the asagio mashed potatoes were to die for/ creamy and delicious and filling; the green bean almondine was cooked perfectly; the Caesar salad was amazing it was more dressed than I like it but it tasted wonderfully, it didn’t taste generic or anything (there was also a artichoke dip we didn’t get to try, but everyone loved it). The table settings, the choice of linens was amazing, it was great that there was no corking fee, no linen renting fee, no chair or table rental fee and no cake cutting fee. This place was absolutely amazing, the service was amazing, they kept coming back to the table to make sure that everyone was satisfied and it was such classy, professional, upstanding service. I could not have asked for a better wedding reception. I personally want to thank Angie for her wonderful wonderful wedding coordinating/managerial skills she is a dream to work with. If you want to be a bride with little or no stress and have a perfect wedding day I definitely recommend The Great Room ( especially Angie) and Catering by Putting on the Ritz. Pros: - The beautiful room - Great Service - Great Wedding Coordinator/ Manager (Angie) - Great Food - Beautiful site - GREAT PRICE!! Cons: - Far from our ceremony (but not fault of The Great Room) - wish things could have lasted longer - wish they served the cake individually to each person instead of putting it out at the dessert bar, but that wasn't explicitly stated to anyone

The food was great and the hors d'oeuvres were amazing. This was my 2nd time having POTR catering and they definitely do not disappoint.

My guests just can't stop talking about how amazing the food was! I loved our caterer and working with Cate was the best. She was extremely helpful. She always responded back quickly and handled everything. If I had to do it all over again, I would choose Putting on the Ritz instantly. They took a lot off my plate.

Our contact at Putting on the Ritz was Bobby and he was wonderful!! From the first meeting to the end of our wedding day Putting on the Ritz did a terrific job! Bobby went out of his way to meet us at our reception venue a week before the wedding to finalize the details. He let me drop off all the items (cake knives, place cards, guest book, etc.) I had for our reception at his office when it was convenient for me. I gave him photos of how I wanted everything set up and everything was set up exactly how I wanted. I didn't give much direction to how the ballroom would be set up and Putting on the Ritz did a beautiful job! We had a little room for the bridal for the bridal party to go into before we were announced and Putting on the Ritz had food and drink in the room waiting for us. At the end of the wedding they gathered all my items and placed it on a table for my mom to take home, very easy and stress free! I had so many compliments about the food! Most brides don't eat on their wedding day, but I have to say I ate a lot more than I thought I would that day!

We had our ceremony on the deck of the Great Room, and then the reception in The Great Room. Everything was amazing. Angie is a fantastic coordinator and was very patient and knowledgable. The food was fantastic and everyone loved the room.

Please, please hire Puttin' on the Ritz! The food was delicious- butter poached pear salad, black pepper crusted sirloin, crab cake, and asiago mashed potatoes (yuuuumm!), all excellent. And it all came out hot and fresh, not like the rubbery steaks I've had at some wedding :-) Perhaps more importantly, Cate is the awesomest catering manager ever. She made the day go so smoothly, and without us having to think or worry about things. She made sure we got dinner (God bless her), and had appetizers and drinks available to the wedding party during pictures. She also had lots of great suggestions throughout the planning process, all of which we were glad we took. I'm so glad we picked them!

Attention Future Brides, if you have not heard of Putting on the Ritz, Catering, it is my personal opinion that they should be one of your top vendors to consider. They truly have a passion for what they do and the passion stretches from Chef Ned throughout every member of their staff, especially from Karen the Catering Manager. I guarantee if you hire Putting on the Ritz, you will not have to worry about how your day will go. They provided above and beyond customer service and my guests are still raving about our brunch reception. Our day was amazing because of their stellar contributions.

Putting on the Ritz is fantastic in EVERY way. Please ask for Karen Foulkrod because she is the BEST in the business. Your wedding will turn out perfect if you have her in charge. She gets things done and knows the business better than most. The food was EXCELLENT and all I have gotten were comments from all of my guest of how good it was. We had our ceremony and reception at Ten Oaks and she also referred my officiant, Laura Cannon, to me and they all worked together and it was perfect.

Cate and the entire staff from Putting on the Ritz were fabulous to work with from start to finish. Cate and the head chef were excited to help us craft a special menu for our guests. The chef even showed up at the reception to provide a pork tenderloin carving station, which was unexpected and such a wonderful touch. Our guests raved about the food and level of service all night and the compliments are continuing to roll in 3 weeks later! Cate is simply the best. Her professionalism, flexibility, responsiveness, and creativity far exceeded our expectations. Prior to joining POTR she was a wedding planner, and it shows in everything she does. To further underscore the quality of POTR it is worth noting that they were forced to set up in a very short period of time because the manager at our venue would not allow them to enter the building until another event had been completely cleaned up. This was an unwelcome surprise to POTR and us, but Cate and her staff handled it expertly. We never saw them sweat! In the future, we will definitely look to POTR for our catering needs and we encourage anyone reading this to do the same!

Bobby and Sue from putting on the Ritz are FANTASTIC!!! They helped me create the perfect wedding from the get-go. We did the station option and Bobby helped us to personalize and put together a menu that was exactly what we wanted. Bobby also helped me to create a look for the reception that was stunning. Every time I needed help or answers to questions, Bobby and Sue were right there, willing to help. The actual reception was wonderful- EVERYONE was raving about the food, even our chef and foodie friends- which is a HUGE compliment. THE FOOD WAS AMAZING AND WE GOT NOTHING BUT COMPLIMENTS ABOUT HOW IT GREAT THE FOOD TASTED AS WELL AS HOW WONDERFUL THE STAFF WAS. I HEARD HOW FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL THE STAFF WAS ALL DAY.

Cate was FABULOUS from beginning to end! She was very responsive and flexible when I changed my mind or came up with new ideas during the planning. She even drove out to my venue to check it out, even though I couldn't be there to meet her. The food was FANTASTIC and the staff were extremely courtious, polite, and professional. Every staff member I encountered at my reception personally congratulated me, which I found very kind. The set-up transformed the room, and I didn't even order anything "extra" or special. I was happily stunned when I walked into the reception room! So many of our guests commented on how wonderful the food was; even people that don't like "wedding food", and the value was incredible. I priced 3 catering companies and Putting on the Ritz was the most affordable, yet there was no scrimping on service or taste! You will NOT be disappointed- and make sure you order the assorted cookies for dessert- they are AMAZING!

We got married and had our ceremony in The Great Room in Savage Mill. The room was absolutely stunning when all the lights were on and tables were decorated. The food was delicious. The tasting is not until after you book, but no worries everything was so good that we had trouble narrowing down what we would put on the buffet.

Wow. Cate from POTR was so crucial in our wedding going smoothly. I didn't have a coordinator or planner, but Cate stepped in to offer us advice and help everystep of the way. She went way above and beyond the call of duty to help us. And the food was amazing. I received so many compliments that the food was delicious, everyone raved about the steak! I highly recommend trying that out! She frequently checked in with me and my husband to make sure we had a drink in our hand and had gotten enough to eat. We did a buffet which was really great b/c everyone got to try a few things on the menu. The servers and bartender and chefs were very professional and were very much on top of their game. Cate worked really closely with our dj and photographer and all of our vendors to make sure the day was perfect. I cannot say enough about how great she was. I felt 10 million times calmer knowing that she was behind the scenes taking care of everything. She was a wedding planner/coordinator previously, and you can tell she was great at it. She still is!!! Try to get her if you go with POTR. Oh, we also dropped off all of our centerpieces beforehand and she nailed the set up, which was a tough job b/c it was not your traditional display! Anyway, we love, love, loved working with Putting on the Ritz and Cate!!!!
