Kake Korner

We love Kake Korner! They have the absolute most delicious cupcakes we've had and their icing especially blows us away. We found them while searching for wedding cakes and unlike some places that charge $5.50 a slice and wouldn't even let us taste their cakes beforehand, Kake Korner let us try every single one of their flavors for free! And their prices are so much better than some of the well-known fancy cake places in DC and Baltimore, without any decrease in flavor. They also did their best to help us stay in budget, figuring out where we can cut costs here and there. For example, we originally chatted with them about prices and designs in October, but didn't order until after they had their annual price increase (to deal with increasing ingredient prices). Despite this, they let us order our cupcakes with last year's price! The airbrushing on our cupcakes was simple, but beautiful. We go to them now for any and every special occasion that requires cake and we've become regulars!

Kake Korner did an excellent job on my cake. It was so beautiful and very tasty. They delivered it on time and to my specifications. I couldn't have asked for anything more. Please don't be fooled by going to a place with cheap cakes thinking you are getting a deal. I tried a place whose cake would have cost me half as much but when I tasted it, it was like eating cardboard with butter on it. Do your self a favor and go to kake korner. They always have free samples and you don't need an appointment. P.S. If the shop is a little busy, don't get mad if they cant come to you right away. Let that be an indication of quality and popularity.

The cake was delicious, the design was nice and the value was great. The staff were always curteous and helpful.

My now husband and I wanted to work with a local bakery for our wedding cake and were fortunate to find Kake Korner. I'm more picky with frosting, and this place has a great frosting in my book - it's not too sweet or overpowering, but very flavorful. Plus, they have a lot of cake flavors to choose from. Getting samples is very easy at Kake Korner since they are found throughout the place and even though we didn't place an order when visiting the first and second time, we got to take home a 6-pack of cupcakes each time at no charge to try the flavors we wanted most. The ordering process was very straightforward, and it was no problem to mix and match flavors and choose certain designs without adding more cost. In the end, our cake was a simple, but classic 2-tier cake since we had a smaller wedding. It fit the style of our wedding so well and my hubby, guests, and I enjoyed eating it!

The cupcakes we got from Kake Korner were incredibly delicious. The icing was out of this world good! They were extremely friendly to work with and responsive to our questions. Upon our first visit, we ended up walking away with about 18 FREE cupcakes, even though we hadn't mentioned anything about possibly using them as a wedding vendor. Their generosity (and the taste of their product) actually led us to cut ties with another potential vendor in favor of the Kake Korner. The only criticisms that we'd have of Kake Korner are relatively minor. We rented a cupcake stand from them and didn't get a call indicating that we needed to return it (something which we had totally forgotten about) until six days after the reception, in a rush to find one for a wedding the following day. We weren't charged extra for forgetting or anything like that, but left us a little concerned for the party that would be using the stand next. I would also suggest doing business in person as opposed to over the phone, as their automated calling system takes several minutes to navigate through; it's faster to just drive up to Laurel. Overall, we were extremely impressed and our guests are still raving about the cupcakes nearly a month later.

JP's Kake Korner did a great job on our wedding cake. It was exactly the way we pictured and asked for. We had a three tiered cake and each tier was a different flavor in addition we also had a sheet cake to help cut down on costs. The cake was moist and the icing was not too sweet. We got so many compliments on the cake and people are still asking about it :)

JP's was our neighborhood cupcake spot, and when we got married she was the easy choice for the wedding cake. The cakes and cupcakes were delicious and everybody loved it. She was very flexible as we changed the cake flavor about a week before the wedding. I love them so much we are going to have them do our son's birthday cake too!

The Cake was absolutely phenomenal. All of my requests were double checked prior to the wedding. The cake turned out beautiful. They were very friendly and willing to work with us on choosing a cake. The cake was VERY affordable and was VERY high quality.

Our cake was beautiful and delicious. We chose chocolate cake with chocolate mousse filling for one layer and a white almond cake with raspberry filling for another. It was moist, tasty, beautifully decorated and delivered on time. And, best of all, the price was quite reasonable.

Our cake was wonderful. They have a true delicious cakes that are moist and tasty. There was a slight misunderstanding as to when it needed to be delivered, but when we called to clarify they arrived immediately and all was well.

Lisa made a beautiful and delicious red velvet wedding cake for us. In addition she was very flexible with my budget. To cut down on costs, she made a flat red velvet cake that served as a groom's cake for us in addition to the three tiered stacked cake.

I had a picture of the cake that I wanted for my wedding. J.P. Kake Korner match the cake to the tea and the cake was delicious.

J.P.'s exterior may be off-putting, but the cake was phenomenal! It tasted wonderfully, which was no surprise because they allowed us to taste whole cup cakes before we ordered. They decoration of the cake was beautiful!! They were able to match the color of a fabric swatch I gave them perfectly. They allowed the use of a cake topper I brought with me, and they delivered!

Our cake was the most beautiful cake I have ever seen. They brought the cake to the reception site and set it up. They even matched my wedding flowers, bought them, and assembled them on the cake.
