Joey Pulone Photography

We had the pleasure of having Joey as our photographer at our wedding this past weekend and we honestly couldn't have asked for a better photographer. We don't live in the area so we didn't have the chance to meet in person until the morning of the wedding, but he instantly made us feel comfortable. He is very creative and photographs like a brilliant artist, and he moves around like a ninja, I didn't even notice that he was there at our wedding. He went way out of his way to make our already special day all the more special and memorable. I could personally guarantee you that he will meet your expectation and then some, no matter how high your expectation may be. Our experience from working with him was just so fun, so easy and so natural. A couple days after the wedding, he posted one "teaser" picture and that one image just said it all - it literally was a teaser, my husband and I are dying to see the rest of them! Thank you Joey! You rock!

SIMPLY AMAZING!!!! He caught such remarkable facial expressions in his photos. I didn't even realize that he was taking the photos that I saw. Joey has a talent to capture moments that you will treasure forever. I would recommend him to everyone!!!!!

Joey was such a blast to work with! He was professional, but also very fun. We have not seen our pictures yet, but I know they are going to be amazing. We felt very comfortable with Joey and didn't feel like we were being directed and posing the whole night. Joey's approach is fresh as well as his technique. I would highly recommend Joey to any bride and groom who is looking for something other than a boring posed wedding album.

Great!! Everything about Our Special Day went according to plan. He was attentive, and discreet at the same time. Very respectful and creative. The photos came out great just as we expected. If the website had the option, we would rate him a 10. We would certainly recommend him to others and hire him for future events.

Like most couples pictures were of upmost importance to us when planning our wedding. You study all the latest bridal magazines, watch every wedding related tv show, spend countless hours working out ALL the details, just so your wedding day is "PICTURE PERFECT". This is where JOEY steps in. Some people are super comfortable with having their picture taken, my husband and I are NOT those people. Right from the start Joey made us feel very at ease. Before you know it we were having a blast getting our pictures taken and laughing the whole way through. We can't thank Joey enough for our breathtaking photos. They looked as if we pulled them out of a magazine. Don't be one of those brides that goes all out on everything else and skimps on their photographer! When the "I Do's" are all said and done, you'll wish you had photos to relive those moments over and over for years to come.

We were so excited to meet Joey and as soon as we all sat down to chat, we immediately clicked. We spent almost 3 hours just talking to him about the wedding and our lives. I was very excited to see what he would do on our wedding day and he didnt' disappoint. He was on time, unobtrusive, professional, yet very fun and laid back as well. He got so many great shots that I wasn't even aware were being taken. I love his "on the fly" kind of shooting. He's creative and lets you be you and everyone just had so much fun. I'm so grateful for all the wonderful memories he captured. He's been a plethora of photography information as well. I highly suggest his services!

Joey was amazing. He made taking pictures fun! And, my husband and I look fantastic in all of the pictures. Joey made everyone feel comfortable and people really got into the candid photos - although we did have requests for specific photos. I really think he managed to be everywhere at once. We have a great selection of pictures that highlight the whole evening. What a great way to remember our wedding. I would recommend Joey to anyone!

Everyone at our wedding loved Joey -- we loved him from the first e-mail. He was never in the way, and yet was where he needed to be all day. He listened to our guests about things like, "If she steps on the dance floor, you will want to be there." He gave light direction during portraits but really let us be ourselves all day. He was so much fun and I would love to work with him again.‎

Before we even met Joey, we felt very much at ease with him due to his lightening fast, detailed email replies and phone calls. The stress of wedding photography soon melted away. He was extremely flexible; always so enthusiastic and positive that it would work perfectly. He was more than happy to accommodate our ever-changing needs. He took care of the planning and even asked questions to understand the meaning behind the events in our conservative Muslim ceremony. He was interested, respectful, and tactful. On the wedding day, the whole crowd befriended him instantly. I think of the quote by Henri Cartier-Bresson: "Think about the photo before and after, never during. The secret is to take your time. You mustn't go too fast. The subject must forget about you. Then, however, you must be very quick." If Joey was reciting this mantra in his head during the event, I wouldn’t be surprised. The photos he captured are amazing- the subjects truly did forget about his camera. Having tried to have subjects forget my camera when I take photos, I know that it is almost impossible. I most highly recommend Joey to anyone seeking a photographer.

We love Joey! He followed us around for our engagement photos, captured all of our favorite moments on our wedding day, and did a day after portrait session with us as well. Despite fading light, sore feet and cold weather for our engagement shoot, we are still getting compliments on how spectacular they are. And when the heat wave of the decade occured during our wedding weekend, he made us look like rock stars anyway, despite it being 108 degrees! And everyone should look and feel like a rock star in the pictures that will hang on your wall for the rest of your life : ) In addition to his spectacular and artistic photography skills, Joey is just an awesome dude. He made us feel comfortable and let us be ourselves. He has such a big personality that we enjoyed so much and yet, when it was time for him to get down to business, he was very unobtrusive and managed to document our days without us tripping over him at all. If you're looking for a fun and talented photographer I would absolutely reccommend Joey. I know that my husband and I will go back to Joey to document all of our extra special events in the future. His photos are so lovely we could hardly choose which ones we liked best to put on our walls at home. I cannot say enough good things : )

How many words can I find to explain how incredible Joey is? From the moment my husband and I talked to Joey on the phone, we knew that he would be the perfect fit for us. If you have a fun-loving nature and a love of art, Joey is the right photographer for your wedding -- or any other life event you have coming up for that matter. Joey came and introduced himself, and then made himself virtually invisible. We rarely knew he was there, but whenever we looked for him, there he was, sitting in the mud, or kneeling on the dance floor, or bent at some odd angle to get the perfect shot. Joey will bend over backwards (litterally!) to get the perfect images to capture your day. His photojournalistic style is captivating and alluring. He talked us through how everything was going to go, and without his expertise and easy-going nature, I wouldn't have been so relaxed on my wedding day. Joey, I can't sing your praises enough. On Facebook, at work, or in social occasions, you'll always be the first name that slips off my tongue when people are seeking a photographer. If you ever do a workshop, I hope you'll let me know. Joey was excellent and a complete sweet heart! We hired him a week before our event and he was totally flexible and putting up with our tardiness with a genuine smile! He didn't even eat at our event and was everywhere with his camera, even our guests were impressed and got along with him fabulously. Afterwards we headed down to Georgetown late into the night to take fun experimental shots. He even almost got in trouble for one of our shots with the airport police as we were taking fun shots down the spiraling road at BWI's parking garage. I can't wait to see the pictures but I know for sure that they will be unique and well-done!

Joey Pulone photographed our June 2009 wedding and we can't imagine having anyone else do the job. Our wedding images were incredible, something we will cherish for the rest of our lives. He provided us with 5 star service from beginning to end on our special day. Most importantly, he made us feel at ease and wasn't invasive. We, along with our friends and family, hardly knew he was there (which was very important to us)! Overall a first class photographer in every sense - professional, very friendly, polite, accommodating, and basically an all-around wonderful photographer who produces outstanding quality images. We would recommend him over and over again!

After looking at several photographers, we decided to hire Joey to do our pictures. His photographs are BEAUTIFUL --he has such an artistic approach to wedding photography. If you want the standard, run of the mill, posed photographs--Joey is not your man. If you're looking for someone who catches candid moments and captures the emotion of the day with his pictures, Joey is PERFECT for you. The best thing about him is that he doesn't have any time limit, like a lot of other photographers do. He's with you from the morning until after the guests leave and is constantly working to capture every aspect of the day. I loved this about him--he also has a great personality and is so easy to get along with. My husband and I were so please with his professionalism, attention to detail and, of course, the quality of pictures he takes. I would highly recommend Joey to be your wedding photographer. If you want to see his approach to wedding photography, he has quite a few photos on his website to look at. Seeing the pictures on his site and an album he finished for another wedding (which was breath taking) was ultimately what made up our mind to choose Joey. He's wonderful!

We were thrilled when we found Joey because his work was phenomenal and he was an extremely nice guy. He was out of our price range but we decided to skip the videographer and book him. He was great leading up to the wedding: very responsive to emails, flexible with the payment plan, etc. The day of our wedding, Joey arrived early at the hair salon and then drove to our venue and stayed until the evening was over. Everyone that spoke to him said he was very friendly and unobtrusive. He was all over the place, taking a ton of photos. However, everything went downhill after the wedding. He promised us a few teasers in a couple of weeks but several emails and phone calls later, we didn't see a single image from our October wedding until December and we didn't receive our DVD with all of our images until March! We were told that he would compensate us by giving us two enlargements and those have just arrived, almost a year after our wedding. Additionally, we were told our album would be done in May and we have yet to even see a proof. My advice, save your money and go with another photographer. His work is great and he is a nice guy but we believe he over charges (there are plenty of great photographers for half of Joey's cost) and newlyweds should not have to wait two months to see a single image of their wedding and five months to receive their DVD.
