Thank you so much for making my wedding cake and cupcakes for my recent wedding at the Vandiver Inn! Everyone raved about how much they LOVED the cake/cupcakes, that we didn't have one slice to spare by the end of the night! Everyone snagged what was left over as they left the venue because they just couldn't get enough...they are absolutely AMAZING! Ed LOVED his Groom Cake, as he won't share it with anyone..he works on it a little bit each night! It was a perfect design for him and he LOVES the Chocolate Raspberry flavor. I think that we will never be able to eat another cake outside of Rita's after this weekend..because now we know what a "REAL" cake should taste like! Thank you...

Having a cake from Desserts by Rita was part of our contract with the Vandiver Inn. What a match made in heaven! My husband and I still talk about how excellent our wedding cake was. As most newlyweds do, we have our cake top sitting in our freezer for us to enjoy on our first anniversary. That cake was sooo amazing that it truly is a task to wait until our first anniversary to taste it again!

We got married at the Vandiver Inn on 03March2012. The cake from Desserts by Rita was included with the venue. And I must say DELICIOUS! We met with Cindy 3 months before the wedding for our tasting. After I found out the cake was included and where it was from - I did some research on their website. Once I saw it, I knew I had to have it - PEANUT BUTTER buttercream. O-M-G! Cindy had the usual flavors of cakes and buttercreams ready for us. They were all so good, my wife and I finished almost the whole plate. I asked to sample the peanut butter, though, and saved some cake to try it with...it was better than I imagined! We had a chocolate/vanilla layer with peanut butter buttercream, the anniversary tier was the same, and we chose lemon with vanilla for our middle tier because it was so good and such a great contrast to the heavier layer. Our design was kind of complicated. Our wedding colors were black and white, with pops of solid colors. Cindy made a map of the cake with notes for everything. She offered to create a mock-up layer so we could confirm it was correct. The mock-up didn't turn out exactly as we wanted - but no big deal; that's what mock-ups are for. Cindy redrew the cake map with more notes...and when our cake showed up...it was GORGEOUS! Exactly as we had discussed. It's 3 weeks later and people are still commenting on how beautiful and delicious it was...and I'm finding it hard to save the anniversay...

The cake itself tasted so good! We got to do a tasting, and they let me bring my fiancée and both my parents...and even gave us another piece of chocolate when my dad ate the first piece himself! We chose to use two flavors because they were all so good and it was so hard to decide! It is absolutely delicious and I can't wait until my anniversary so I can dig in again! (we even had an extra piece left in our fridge when we came home from the honeymoon and I couldn't resist eating it! It was still good!)

Desserts by Rita was the baker that was included in the price of my venue when I booked my wedding at the Vandiver Inn. However, there is a reason why the venue chooses to business with only one baker...they are AMAZING! The cake was looked and tasted superb. Many times you might get a cake somewhere else that looks fantastic but isn't good to eat. This was NOT the case with my cake from Desserts by Rita. It was moist, rich, and my guests were able to choose from two different flavors. My husband and I can't wait to eat the top tier a year from now!

Our wedding venue included a wedding cake from Rita's which I couldn't have been happier with. The cake iwa delicious and the design was exactly what we wanted. Can't wait for our one year anniversary to eat our top layer!

We could not have imagined a more perfect cake for our wedding. Desserts by Rita matched the blue of our roses (that were with our florist) with the blue details on our cake. The cake was magnificant and delicious! All of guest raved about the cake and there wasnt a single slice of cake remaining at the end of our reception. The price was fantastic as well!

We got married at the Vandiver last weekend so we got our cake from Desserts by Ritas. All I can say is that I LOVED MY WEDDING CAKE! It was beautiful and tasted amazing!! The guests could not get enough, people were walking around looking for extra pieces of cake! My husbands Birthday is this coming weekend and I will be calling to get a cake made for him so that my family can all enjoy it. Thank you sooo much!!

Desserts by Rita makes the BEST cakes!! I am not a big fan of cake, but when I went for the tasking, I loved this cake!! We went with the orange and lemon, they were both amazing. The price per person was comparable or better than other places I looked into. A few days before our wedding day we had to make the decision to move our wedding up by 3 hours due to hurricane Irene :( It was the worst case scenario, but the team at Ritas were able to get the cake delivered earlier than planned with no problem. The wedding went off without a hitch, despite the hurricane going on outside of our tent at the Wellwood in Charlestown, MD.

Our cake was provided through a contract that Desserts by Rita has with Vandiver Inn, so all we had to do was go in, decide on flavors and design, and call with a number before the big day. They are well prepared to do a large variety of designs, and their cakes are light and moist, topped with fantastic buttercream icing! Our guests were raving about the cake long into the night, and the scrollwork on the cake was lovely-thank you Kimberly Gillis!

I was nervous about having a buttercream cake in the hot august weather, at an outdoor wedding no less! But Desserts by Rita's did an amazing job. The cake was just beautiful, exactly what we wanted from top to bottom, inside and out. It didn't sink or run and the taste was FANTASTIC! I couldn't have been happier, I just wish I had more! Guess we'll have to come back soon:)

Everything about Desserts by Rita was wonderful. The design was exactly what we wanted, and I must say it was the best wedding cake I have ever tasted. We had a three-tier cake, with three different flavors. Their staff was very professional and easy to deal with. Best of all, we were pleasantly surprised with their reasonable prices. I would definitely recommend Desserts by Rita for your wedding cake.

During the planning process, we would ask other vendors who they would recommend for the wedding cake, and everyone said Ritas. Each flavor that we tasted was delicious, and we received so many compliments on how good the cake was. We even ordered 2 dessert trays, and they were delicious as well. My mother and I were also pleasantly surprised to find that Ritas was cheaper than a couple other places that we had looked into. The staff was very friendly, and willing to work with my ideas. You're guaranteed a great cake if you go with Ritas!

Desserts by Rita was a delight. When we went in for the tasting, my fiance and I were in awe of the moist cake and delicious icing! The flavors were amazing, it was so hard to choose! We ended up choosing 3 different flavors for each layer: vanilla and chocolate with fudge, coconut, and chocolate with fudge. Cindy created a beautiful design that coordinated perfectly with our wedding colors. Cindy advised us that with the warm weather, we should have our 3 layers separated as to avoid sliding. The cake showed up on time and beautiful. We saved the top layer and I cannot wait to eat it on our first anniversary! Best wedding cake I have EVER had!

Desserts by Rita's made our cupcake centerpieces for our wedding at the Vandiver Inn. When I originally told Cindy about the idea, she was so excited! She loved the idea of making a cupcake centerpiece...which looked like roses since they cupcakes were in a flower pot with rose shaped icing (since she used to be a floral designer). However, when I called her a month before the wedding, she did not remember that I had asked her to make the centerpieces, she only remembered that I wanted cupcakes. Needless to say, she made them and they were a big hit! Everyone loved the cupcakes. We ordered three different flavors. People bring up the cupcakes everytime they mention our wedding. However, I was disappointed by the color of the icing. Cindy told me she could match David Bridal's watermelon and tangerine. The colors looked nothing like the swatches, in fact they the pink was more like a purple.

Desserts By Rita made a beautiful looking and very tasty wedding cake for me! They are very easy to work with and make sure you get exactly what you want!

Desserts by Rita was a pleasure to work with! We held our wedding at the Vandiver, so our cake was included in that package and I can't really comment on price. However, I can comment on the design of our cake, the taste, and the service we received. At our tasting it was hard to choose flavors because everything was so good. But choose we did and we gave Cindy our cake topper and inspiration picture. Cindy offered us the opportunity to have a trial run of our top tier to check the design, and I'm glad we did! Sometimes our visions don't always translate well into reality, and that was what happened with the picture I had chosen when we saw our trial tier. But we were able to sit down with the decorator and find a way to get the feeling we were going for with a look we would love. And the final result was awesome. I love seeing our cake in our wedding pictures now! So yes, it looked great. But you should also know that guests are still telling me how good the cake was. We really couldn't have been happier with...

We were so thrilled with the wedding cake and groom's cake that we got from Desserts by Rita. The wedding cake was exactly what we wanted....it looked amazing and tasted even better! And the groom's cake turned out better then I could have imagined! We will definitely be using them for cakes/desserts in the future!
