I probably contacted Amy a week before our small wedding/civil ceremony on Valentine's Day before my finance was to be deployed to Afghanistan. Amy was game - she was available, positive, enthusiastic and flexible, and worked with us to fit our budget. She fit in so well, my dad mistook her for another one of his daughters! My fiance (now husband) & I had few good pictures of ourselves, especially together, so it was very important to us to have pictures of this day - also the third anniversary of the day we met. Amy's pictures of us together, particularly the ones that include our two dogs, make me feel like, "finally - we have really nice pictures of us together!" And her pictures of my husband before the ceremony capture the calm and steady confidence he brings to our relationship, and kind eyes & gentle smile that I saw when I was saying the vows, and now I can see the way he looks at me even when we are on different sides of the world.

Our photographer was David Spence, who is Amy Raab's associate. He was excellent. Renata served as his assistant photographer and she was lovely as well. David has a good eye and was both extremely organized and flexible when working with us. Importantly, he was not at all obtrusive or bossy but still did a great job getting everyone together for portraits. At times there seemed to be some miscommunication between David and Amy (i.e., the date of our engagement shoot was already booked) though this was really the only hiccup. Amy and David were absolutely amazing to work with from start to finish! Whenever I sent an email I'd hear back immediately-and they couldn't have been more accommodating! I can't tell you how many wedding guests have been raving about their work! They just have a way of capturing the moment perfectly without ever being obtrusive. If I had to do it all over again I honestly wouldn't change a thing! I can't recommend Amy Raab Photography to enough brides, I promise you will not be disappointed!

Amy is an exceptional photographer. We used her for engagement, wedding and family photographs and each time she amazed me. She makes you feel comfortable and is always able to get great shots. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a photographer. You won't be disappointed!

I'm not even sure where to begin with recommending how AMAZING Amy Raab and her assistant, Allison, were at our wedding this past September. For me, finding the perfect photographer was the most important ingredient in the overall scheme of the wedding festivities. After 2-3 hour long interviews with multiple highly-acclaimed photographers, fortunately for my husband and I, we found the light: AMY! Upon meeting with her I was completely at ease and really enjoyed our conversation. She wasn't trying to sell or push me as to why I should choose her company. Keep in mind, Amy doesn't shoot a wedding every Saturday and take on just any contract. Because of her talent and the quality of her work, she can afford to be just as selective as the bride. Her gorgeous photography displayed in her Annapolis studio, along with her personality and beyond pleasant disposition was all it took to move forward with the contract. I booked her about 14 months before my actual wedding, and that was an incredible relief! I had a September 2011 wedding, and moved to California in August 2010, so you can imagine the frustration, stress, and difficulty planning a huge day from the west coast with the time difference, etc. Amy made this very easy. She is VERY responsive whether it is through email, text, or just calling her cell; I never went an entire 24 hours without hearing at least SOMETHING back from her to put a busy bride's mind at ease. While remaining extremely professional, you can vent to her your frustrations with the wedding planning and she is very helpful as far as recommending other vendors and making the entire process as smooth and painless as possible. Two weeks before the wedding, Amy and I got everything organized as far as the necessary shots with the wedding party, family, and close friends. She and I arranged the timeline that would occur that Saturday and followed up with her assistant, who would be shooting the groomsmen preparing for the wedding, until we all met at the church. The entire day went so smoothly and beautifully. Amy made it so FUN, not that feeling where the photographer is like "OK, now everyone let's get together, look here, and SMILE". It's not cheeseball photography, or "posey". I filed that shenanigans for my sorority days or facebook. This is your WEDDING, the biggest day of your life. Her approach is more photojournalist and she is actually able to capture the moments that replay your wedding day so magically it can bring you to tears! Her photos were BEYOND BEYOND BEYOND. We were so extremely thrilled with the quality of work she did, and throughout the entire day she was so unobtrusive I was worried that I may only have got a couple hundred pictures. As it turns out, her and her assistant shot over thousands of photos but they are so good at what they do, it's like they are not even there. We are so pleased with the outcome of our pictures we know we hit the jackpot with having Amy Raab shoot our wedding. If there is one thing you want to be confident when going through your wedding checklist, it's the photographer. With that being said, if you are in the Annapolis area, you want your photographer to be Amy Raab, and better hope your date isn't already reserved by some other lucky bride!

All I can say is that Amy Raab is amazing! We had been completely overwhelmed when we began to look for vendors, especially photographers. What we loved most about Amy was her excitement. She was genuinely excited about our wedding and every wedding she has ever photographed. Her excitement was infectious which made everyone at ease when she was working and often times you forgot she was even there. Amy was also very dedicated to the event, and made sure to take the time and individualize and understand each shoot. These two characteristics made for a great balance between priceless candids and beautiful posed photos, the best of both worlds in photography. Both our engagement photos and our wedding photos turned out perfect- true reflections of who we are, what we love, and who we love. This couldn't have been done with out Amy. I believe that the true testament to the quality of her work is that it made my father cry when he saw the final photos, and he called Amy personally to thank her for memorializing this special day for for everyone. I cannot recommend Amy enough!

When I got engaged in February of 2010 I knew two things - we were getting married in Annapolis and I HAD to have Amy Raab as my photographer! Her work is phenomenal and once we met her it was just the icing on the cake! She is very professional, warm, inviting and clearly well versed and inspired by what she does. We had a great experience every time we met with her - for both our engagement shoot and our wedding. She was prompt and thorough with all communications and never hesitated to offer a listening ear when we had concerns or questions. For our wedding we also hired her assistant, David Spence - he was also phenomenal! We never felt like there was a camera in our face and neither did our guests. They both were very open with us and worked with us in setting up the timeline for the day to make sure we could get everything in that we wanted - and we did that and more! Overall, my experience with Amy was phenomenal. This asks me if I would recommend this vendor to my friend and I'm annoyed that there wasn't a box to check that says "ABSOLUTELY! And i cant wait to have another occasion where I can use her service again!"

Amy Raab and her associate David Spence are A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!! The two most important things when it comes to a wedding photographer are how comfortable you will be in front of the camera and the quality of the photographs. Amy more than delivers on both! She is such a sweet, down-to-earth, and approachable person. You quickly feel like you have known her forever, she allows you to completely be yourself and somehow makes you unaware that a camera is even present. The results are even more extraordinary! I have received compliment after compliment about the photographs... high remarks regarding the color saturation, formal shots that do not look too "stiff and staged", her knack for capturing special candid moments, and her ability to make everything look SO darn pretty! Another important thing to note is her excellent communication. She replies almost immediately (actually many times instantly) on email. She never makes you feel like you are bothering her or wasting her time and is instead very welcoming of any questions you have. If you look at Amy's portfolio and then research into other photographers... you will quickly find yourself comparing everyone to her and realize there is absolutely no comparison. In fact, this is a direct statement from one of my bridesmaids who recently got engaged and has also decided that she too wants Amy to photograph her wedding!

Amy and David were so wonderful! It was a pleasure working with them and having them document our big day. I haven't seen the photos yet (the wedding was only about 1.5 weeks ago) but the few that I did see during the wedding/reception looked AMAZING! I can't wait to see the final result. I'm positive it will be everything I wanted.

Oh my gosh Amy and her assistant Arianne were amazing at our wedding! I can't tell you how many compliments I've received about her. It was so much fun to see how much she loves her job. She was so sweet and patient and kept us all smiling with her enthusiasm. At one point I remember (before the ceremony) when my nerves were out of control, thinking how happy I was to have her there with her calming energy. I felt very relaxed with Amy there and completely worry free. We just got married, so I haven't seen the pictures yet, but I just wanted to let everyone know how great she was. Amy (and her associate David Spence) are the best! We have not gotten our wedding photos back yet (we just got married!) but our engagement photos were amazing! Amy and David both really put us (and our wedding party and families) at ease and are such fun, enthusiastic photographers to work with! You can tell they both really love what they do and the pictures show it! You will not be disappointed when you choose Amy Raab photography! We are so excited to get our pictures back :)

Amy Raab and her team took the most amazing photo's of our wedding. Amy Raab and David Spence were fantastic photographers! Not only did they do a great job, but we had a great time with them and were so glad they could be a part of our event! Both have wonderful personalities, making the process fun and effortless. We never felt pushed around by them like some photographers, but they still had great suggestions that we were able to incorporate into our shots. We haven’t even seen our photos yet but are certain we are going to love them. They were right on the sidelines for all of our favorite moments! Everyone was able to just be themselves, which should make for some wonderful candid shots. For posed photos earlier in the night, both Amy and Dave had a keen eye for angles and poses, and ensured even things in the background wouldn’t interfere with a great shot. We know our pictures are going to be flawless! We recommend them to anyone looking for photographers, and look forward to using them again in the future!

Both Amy and David were amazing! The engagement photos are spectacular. Amy and David both worked so hard during the wedding although they were completely behind the scenes all night. I can't wait to see the finished product! We highly recommend Amy and her team!

Amy Raab and her associate David Spence ROCKED our wedding photos!!!! My husband and I cannot recommend this amazing duo enough! From our very first consultation with Amy in her gorgeous Annapolis studio to the sweaty, tired, bitter end of the reception almost a year later, Amy was a pleasure to work with and unfailingly professional. She and David are both extremely talented photographers with an unreal ability to capture (and seemingly magnify!) color. They did not miss a moment, and through their photojournalistic style shots, my husband and I have gotten to see all of the myriad moments that we missed during the blur of the big day. Really, truly, if you want wedding photos that will make everyone who looks at them exclaim "I've never seen wedding pictures like this!," go with Amy Raab photography. It is impossible that you will be disappointed.

Amy Raab Photography is wonderful - simply the best! I have had countless people (and other brides!) tell me my wedding pictures are the best they've ever seen! I researched many photographers in the area, and there is just no comparison. The cost is truly worth every penny! The photographers were a delight to work with leading up to, day of, and after my wedding. They listened to my ideas of shots I would like, took them, and used their true artist touch to make the pictures even better than I had imagined! They were unobtrusive throughout the wedding, so my husband and I could really enjoy ourselves; and yet, they captured every moment of our wedding! I honestly could not be happier!

My husband and I hired Amy Raab Photography for our September 2009 wedding in Annapolis, Maryland. Amy and her assistant, David, were extremely professional and courteous. Their documentary-style photos captured our event perfectly. The attention to detail was outstanding, as every picture is a true reflection of our wedding day.
